STUDENT GOVERNMENT

Advisor: Mrs. Fraticelli

Parkside Elementary’s Student Government is sponsored by Mrs. Fraticelli and consists of students in grades 3 through 5.

Each classroom has 2 representatives for the group. One student will be the representative and the other, the alternate representative. Out of the students selected, all students in grades 3 through 5 vote for the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and a Sergeant at Arms

The Student Government effects and affects Parkside’s environment. The group makes decisions that impact the student body here at Parkside.

SAFETY PATROLS

Advisor: Mrs. McAlpin

The fifth grade class has worked hard on establishing the standard for safety patrols! Under the supervision of Mrs. McAlpin, our safety patrols take their job seriously and work as a team in assisting the staff to create a safe environment for our students. A great thanks to the 35 members of our club and to all of those who respect these outstanding young leaders!

ART CLUB

Advisor: Mrs. Mastrianni

Parkside’s Art Club consists of 30 students who meet every Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 – 3:00. These students are able to take their creativity to a higher level as they invent 3D robots using old computers, telephones, etc., sculpt animals in clay, create scenery, and build props for school plays.

Art Club students take an active roll in helping others. They design artwork for each holiday to take to children at hospitals in the area. Art Club also contributes to various art exhibits throughout the county. The students display wonderful pieces of work representing different multicultural themes such as African art, Native American art, etc.

It’s exciting to see the abundance of creativity, imagination and fun pouring out of the art room!
