NOTE: In order to register and obtain a password to access your child(rens) records through Virtual Counselor you will be asked to enter information about yourself and child(ren). If the information you provide does not match the information the school has on file (change of address, phone number, etc.) you will be unable to complete the registration process. Current information will need to be provided to the school so that records can be updated.

Referral Services
The ESE Department at Parkside Elementary is dedicated to meeting the needs of each student. Programs, which are set up prior to the beginning of each school year, are continually evaluated to ensure that students are achieving to the best of their abilities.
The ESE Staff are all certified in their specific areas and participate in continuing education classes on an ongoing basis. The ESE staff work collaboratively to assist parents and teachers in providing quality education to all our students. This includes developing interventions, plans, and programs appropriate to meet the unique needs of each child.
If a child in school appears to be in need of additional help, parents, teachers, and / or administrators can refer an individual student to a Child Study Team, which is comprised of various disciplines and professionals. During the Child Study Team meetings professionals help to develop interventions and begin to collect data for instructional planning. Data is reviewed and additional interventions are implemented if needed. Decisions are also made by this team to refer a child for comprehensive evaluation, which may include speech / language testing, and / or a psychoeducational evaluation.
Parents should notify the ESE Specialist upon registering or withdrawing a student from Parkside if a child participated in any special program. This is for students transferring in the county, state, or country.
